Acupuncture Spotlight

There have been literally thousands of studies done on acupuncture. One study from Thailand (Kumnerddee & Kaewtong, 2010) had 61 patients with carpal tunnel syndrome randomly assigned to either acupuncture or night-splinting groups. The acupuncture group received treatment twice a week for five weeks (10 sessions in total). The night-splint group received neutral wrist splint during the night for five weeks.

Although both groups improved equally with respect to function, pain reports decreased significantly more in the Acupuncture group. Consider 10 sessions of acupuncture as an adjunct to managing persistent carpal tunnel syndrome, certainly before surgery is considered.

From Horseshoe Valley Road, turn on to Line 6 into Sugarbush (There is a large Sugarbush sign at the entrance. Sugarbush is between Horseshoe Valley Rd, Bass Lake Side Rd, Line 7 and Line 5. If you don’t see the Sugarbush sign, you are at the wrong Line 6). Take Line 6 all the way to the STOP SIGN (Don’t turn onto the first Huron Woods or you will have to drive around the world to get to the house).  At the STOP SIGN, turn right onto Huron Woods. 131 is on the left-hand side.
